Hema Latha Krishna Nair is Head of Asia Pacific Centre for Analytics in APU.
She has been working in education since 2008.
She is a seasoned expert in data analytics, research, and consultancy, with a strong track record of leading impactful projects across multiple industries. With extensive experience in disaster management, healthcare, and business intelligence solutions, she has spearheaded groundbreaking initiatives that have been recognized at the national level.
Her work in National Flood Disaster Management was highlighted through the MOE Special Grant for Disaster Management (Flood Mitigation) (2015–2016), where her project was recognized as one among the best by the Ministry of Education.
She has also contributed to healthcare advancement through the MOE Fundamental Grant (2016–2018), focusing on Nasopharyngeal Cancer Prediction and Treatment Analytics.
Beyond academia and research, Hema has delivered data analytics and business intelligence solutions for leading organizations, including Petronas Malaysia (2020). Her expertise extends to consultancy projects, working with major industry players such as Petronas, Infopro, Sapura Kencana, Lotus Systems, AdvancePact, Malaysian Healthcare Travel Council, Nicol David Organisation, and Squash Racquet Association Malaysia, helping them optimize their data-driven decision-making processes.
Her diverse portfolio showcases her ability to translate complex data into strategic insights, driving innovation and efficiency across multiple sectors. With a passion for harnessing data for societal and business impact, Hema continues to contribute to meaningful and transformative initiatives.
Her current Research focuses on National Sports (Squash) Analytics and building Multi-modal Data pipelines for datawarehouse.

Prof Dr Ir Vinesh Thiruchelvam completed his PhD at University Tun Abdul Razak, Malaysia. He is a Professional Engineer with the Board of Engineers Malaysia (BEM), a Chartered Engineer via IET with the Engineering Council of UK and is a Fellow of the Institute of Mechanical Engineers (IMechE-UK). He has managed smart city development international projects in India, Russia, Iran, UAE, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Oman, and Malaysia for the property sector, ports, oil & gas and power plant industries.

Assoc Prof Dr. Raja Rajeswari Ponnusamy has more than 10 years of experience in education and 3 years in industry especially in banking field and clinical research. She received her Ph.D. in optimization and modeling from University Technology Malaysia and the M.Sc. in Applied Statistics from University Putra. She also received an Enterprise Data Science certification in 2018. Her expertise and research focus in Predictive Analytics, Machine Learning, Deep Learning, Time Series and Forecasting, and Data Analytics. She has experiences as a biostatistician consultant for the Clinical Research Centre in Malaysia and involved in conducting clinical trials, health outcomes, clinical epidemiology and clinical economics research for transplant and neonatal registry. Her research project focuses on deep learning and time series in healthcare. She is also actively contributing for journals publications in reputed peer-reviewed journals and book chapters.

- Development of a model to predict disease activity patterns in paediatric Systemic Lupus Erythematosus (pSLE) among Malaysian children
- Identification of the relationships between neuropathology and the mode, time of onset and type of cognitive impairments in patients with Alzheimer disease.
- Determination of the predictive factors for clinically relevant worsening of daily living, and baseline decline in cognitive function of patients with Alzheimer’s disease using support vector machine.

Dr. V. Sivakumar is currently working as Associate Professor at School of Computing, Faculty of Computing and Engineering Technology in Asia Pacific University, Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. He had served as Faculty at Senior Positions in Several Public Universities of India, Ethiopia & Libya with over 22 years of Experience. He bagged Gold Medal in his Master’s, and he has done Ph.D. in Computer Science pertaining to the area of Medical Imaging. He is a passionate educator and researcher. His areas of research include Computer Vision for Medical/Healthcare Applications, Machine Learning, Deep Learning, Fractal Analysis and Big Data Analytics. He is one of the proud recipients of 21st Century Knowledge Initiative Award for carrying out INDO-US Collaborative research project in collaboration with University of North Florida. He is an active member of Asia Pacific Center of Analytics, APU. He is actively contributing for several referred journals as referee and editorial board member. He has got over 45 publications in Scopus, Web of Science and reputed peer-reviewed journals and as book chapters. Mafas Raheem is a Senior Lecturer at the Asia Pacific University of Technology & Innovation of Malaysia. He received his bachelor’s degree in Applied Sciences majoring in Computer Science (BSc) in 2007 and a master’s degree in Business Administration (MBA) in 2016. Further, he obtained his master’s degree in Data Science & Business Analytics (MSc) in 2018. Currently, he is pursuing his PhD in computing, specialising in the field of Natural Language Processing/Machine Learning. Since 2009, he has been serving as a senior lecturer in the field of computing and Business IT for both undergraduate and postgraduate courses in Sri Lanka and Malaysia. From 2022, he is serving as a senior lecturer of AI/Data Science at the Asia Pacific University of Technology & Innovation of Malaysia. His current research interests include Natural Language Processing, Machine/Deep Learning and Artificial Intelligence in various domains especially in eCommerce and healthcare.
